Can you guess who this Leap Day leaping local yocal is?
Answer: Betty Friedan
A leading figure in the Women’s Movement in the United States, her 1963 book The Feminine Mystique is often credited with sparking the “second wave” of American feminism in the twentieth century. In 1966, Friedan founded and was elected the first president of the National Organization for Women, which aimed to bring women “into the mainstream of American society now [in] fully equal partnership with men.”

my husband is slowly coming around to my retro style. i helped him fall in love with modern design but he’s always been very conservative in his attire. he got “wild” and here’s what he wore to my birthday dinner last night. damned if he didn’t say he wanted to get some buddy holly glasses. i’m going to rush him over to lenscrafters before he can change his mind!
got this handmade, vintage dress from Savers for a whopping $3. It fits great and made for the perfect birthday dinner dress. i also got the shoes from savers for $5.50. i paired the outfit with my vintage mink stole and some vintage white gloves. the gloves didn’t match, but it’s was my birthday and i’ll wear white gloves if i want to! seriously though, i love this dress. it has a thai feel with its bright gold, vivid colors and gems down the front. in love.
